MENTHOL
Menthol occurs naturally in the essential oils of plants in the mint family (e.g. in peppermint or the field mint cultivated in Japan or China). Cosmetically, menthol has disinfecting and refreshing properties. It acts on the cold-menthol receptor and therefore has an apparent cooling effect when applied to the skin without however affecting the body temperature.
