The white cocoa bean Criolla Porcelana has been cultivated in Peru for over 3,000 years. To this day, the Alto Piura region is known for its “white cacao”. This cocoa bean is regarded as the most delicate, but also the most valuable of its kind. The beans have been specially grafted to maintain their quality at the highest level and for this they have been awarded several “Superior” ratings by the chocolate industry. The extraction of the unfermented cacao seed for cosmetics is considered to be particularly environmentally friendly.
